Visitor Guide

Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula is a popular coastal region in Victoria for summer holidays and weekend getaways including Portsea, Sorrento, Blairgowrie and Rye located an hour southeast of Melbourne.

The Mornington Peninsula features over 192 km of coastline split between calm, family-friendly bay beaches along Port Phillip bay including Sorrento front beach and Blairgowrie foreshore and rugged ocean beaches of Gunnamatta and Portsea.

The Mornington Peninsula is Melbourne’s own vineyard and vignerons are noted for their hospitality which makes cellar dooring one of the Peninsula’s greatest attractions. The wines enjoy national and international acclaim and scenic drives will take you through parts of Red Hill, Merricks and Balnarring.

The Mornington Peninsula is also a dream destination for golfers, you’ll find some of Australia’s top-ranked courses all set among rolling dunes, coastal cliffs, and vineyard views.

Soak in natural thermal mineral waters at the Peninsula Hot Springs or Alba Thermal Springs and Spa. Ride the Arthurs Seat Eagle gondola for panoramic views across the bay. Visit the coastal trails of Mornington Peninsula National Park.
