Boneo Maze and Wet Lands

Boneo Wetlands Reserve

Boneo Maze & Mini Golf is an outstanding entertainment and eco-tourism complex situation on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria Australia. Our garden is the showpiece of the complex and is completely fenced to enable families to enjoy family picnics, and play a variety of games, which include chess, draughts, snakes and ladders, noughts and crosses, connect four and many other lawn games.

The mini golf, mazes and gardens have been a labour of love but the construction of the boardwalk was perhaps the most difficult and physically demanding project under taken. All material was carried in and the posts where hand driven to a depth of approximately 1.2m, with a hand thumper. At the time of construction the area was totally under water, and all the work had to be done in waders. In fact, when the wetlands is in full flood, it is very similar to the Florida Everglades and is a magnificent site.

The wetlands are home to some endangered species like blue bill, freckled duck and the swamp skink which can be seen sunning themselves on logs on hot days along the boardwalk. Echidnas, wallaby’s and tortoises also live in the swamp, but since they are shy creatures, only a lucky few will see them. Native fish, eel’s and golden perch, which where introduced by the previous owner, can be seen if you look over the waterways from the boardwalk. The bird hide was constructed to give visitors an unrestricted view of Lake King. Many species of birds can be seen. It is large enough to accommodate a full classroom of children and would be ideal for art and environmental studies.
