Kitchen-garden plots overflowing with produce are a sign of the goodness to come at this strip of gastronomy. Sit beneath market umbrellas in the inviting courtyard and order from the days cook-up. Perhaps a hearty eggplant parmigiana, cheesy vegetable frittata or a chickpea salad with Persian feta, bacon and just-picked spinach. Flavours are robust and the made-here sweet things, such as frangipane tart, are wonderful.

With a charmingly rustic fit-out, spacious alfresco seating and a fresh approach to food, this quaint little cafe is what the Sorrento area has been crying out for.

The Sisters kitchen and Garden Cafe , as you may have guessed, is run by, well, sisters, brought up on a strictly organic diet, and the pair tries to bring this same food ethic to their new joint venture. Ably supplied by their in-house kitchen garden, which sprawls throughout the alfresco seating in large planter boxes made of recycled timber, the girls have created a menu and space that is in complete harmony with Sorrento’s laidback vibe.
